Sanofi has packed considerable strategic activity into the weeks before its third-quarter earnings release, pairing a broadened antibody alliance with Regeneron against a coordinated push for friendlier European pharmaceutical regulation. Shareholders will get the full operational picture on October 30, 2026, when the French drugmaker publishes its quarterly report and follows it with a management webcast.

Nine Chairmen Take Their Case to Brussels

On September 22, 2026, Sanofi joined a joint European initiative alongside eight other major pharmaceutical groups. The chairmen of the nine companies — a roster that includes AstraZeneca, Novartis and Roche — signed an open letter urging policymakers to shore up the continent's standing as a research hub. Their demands center on more favorable conditions for pharmaceutical investment, stronger support for clinical trials, dependable intellectual property protection, and better patient access to innovative medicines.

Four New Antibody Programs, Up to $7 Billion in Milestones

Running parallel to that lobbying effort is the company's deepening immunology partnership with Regeneron. The two sides agreed on four additional antibody programs, with Sanofi paying $1 billion upfront to its U.S. partner. Further payments tied to future milestones could reach as much as $7 billion. Development costs, marketing expenses and eventual revenue are split evenly between the companies. One drug candidate is already in Phase 1 testing, while the remaining three programs are slated to enter clinical studies in 2027. As part of the arrangement, the partners also settled earlier litigation stemming from their collaboration. The existing agreement covering Dupixent, their already-marketed blockbuster, remains untouched by the new terms.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Sanofi?

Jefferies Keeps Its Conviction

Analysts see the expanded pipeline as a reason to stay constructive. Jefferies reaffirmed its buy rating on Sanofi on Thursday and left its price target at EUR 100, citing the widened development prospects in immunology. The stock has been through a softer stretch on the capital markets, and the endorsement offers some ballast.

India: Stake Transfer and a Tax Notice

Beyond the research labs, Sanofi is also reorganizing its corporate holdings in key overseas markets. Sanofi India disclosed that Sanofi Healthcare India Private Limited acquired 3,500,000 shares of Sanofi India from Hoechst GmbH on September 24 — an intra-group transfer within the promoter group. The package, equal to a 15.20 percent stake, carried a transaction value of ?10,68,20,00,000.

Days later, attention shifted to the Indian subsidiary's tax affairs. On September 29, Sanofi India announced it had received a formal hearing notice from tax authorities in the state of Gujarat. The notice asserts a total claim of ?16,40 crore, covering taxes, interest and penalties related to alleged discrepancies in filings for fiscal year 2022–23. Sanofi is reviewing the matter and stated that it does not expect any adverse impact on its finances, ongoing operations or other activities.

Shares Steady at EUR 71.53

In Monday trading, the stock found its footing. Sanofi shares changed hands at EUR 71.53, up 1.2 percent on the day, though the paper remains down 14 percent since the start of the year. Market participants are looking to the late-October quarterly figures for fresh directional signals, with the management webcast expected to shed additional light on how the business is tracking.
