Siemens has laid out the timetable for the separation of its healthcare arm: Siemens Healthineers is to be renamed Healthineers, with the carve-out slated for 2027. Shareholders of both companies will be asked to sign off at their annual general meetings in February 2027, the Munich-based group said on Thursday.

The announcement came as the industrial giant kept up a steady flow of operational news. On Friday Siemens Mobility opened a rail infrastructure and innovation centre in Chippenham, England, a 115 million euro investment that the company says safeguards 800 local jobs. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, the mobility unit flagged the start of commercial passenger service on Pune Metro Line 3 in India, for which Siemens supplied traction power, signalling and communications technology as well as depot facilities.

Robotics and Life Sciences Add to the Pipeline

Product news has been arriving from the industrial side too. On 2 November Siemens unveiled a low-voltage drive solution aimed at automated guided vehicles and mobile robotics, designed for 24-volt and 48-volt applications. In the research-lab arena, the group said on Wednesday that IDC MarketScape had named it a leader for life-sciences research and development, pointing to its AI-supported digital-twin portfolio. Siemens and Atos helped GSK cut the number of physical experiments by 25%, according to the company.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens?

The shares fell 2.9% on Friday, caught up in a worldwide selloff of AI and semiconductor stocks. Reuters linked the retreat to worries about tighter AI regulation following the US Democrats' victory in the midterm elections. Investors also fretted that the buildout of data centres could slow, and the report framed the selling as a drag on the German equity market.

Deutsche Bank Sticks With Hold

Deutsche Bank Research reaffirmed its "Hold" rating on Siemens on Friday, keeping the price target at 270 euros. Analyst Gael de-Bray pointed to partly mixed signals from recent results at competitors in the automation business, while describing Siemens' order momentum in electrification as still strong.

Investors will get a fuller picture on 12 November, when Siemens releases fourth-quarter figures together with preliminary numbers for fiscal 2026. The company has scheduled publication for 07:00 CET.
