Siemens has handed investors a rare one-two punch: a company-wide record for quarterly order intake and a multi-billion-euro offshore grid contract for its energy arm, pushing the stock to within roughly 2.5 percent of its 52-week peak of 291.25 euros, a level last seen in early August.

The Munich-based industrial giant booked incoming orders of 27.9 billion euros in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, a 14 percent jump year-on-year and the strongest quarterly figure in its corporate history. Comparable revenue advanced 8 percent to 20.8 billion euros. That momentum prompted management to lift its full-year guidance for adjusted earnings per share to a range of 11.20 to 11.50 euros, up from the previous 10.70 to 11.10 euros.

Shares responded with further strength, trading at 284.20 euros on Monday morning. Over the past 30 days, the stock has climbed 7.4 percent — a clear signal that the upgraded outlook has landed well with the investment community.

Grid Contract Adds Another Growth Vector

The operational strength of the parent company was complemented by a major win in the energy business. Transmission system operator 50Hertz has awarded a consortium of Siemens Energy and NSORe the contract to build the "North Sea Connector 2" platform, a project that will connect 2 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity roughly 200 kilometers west of Sylt. The scope includes an onshore converter near Mühlenbeck and manufacturing work at facilities in Rostock and Vlissingen, Belgium, creating more than 500 jobs in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Commissioning is slated for the end of 2034, with the project forming part of the broader NordOstLink grid expansion program. A second platform, valued at 2.5 billion euros, is reportedly still under negotiation.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens?

Smart Infrastructure Leads the Charge

The clearest growth engine sits within Smart Infrastructure, where demand for data center infrastructure is fueling expansion. Siemens raised its fiscal 2026 guidance for the segment twice: comparable revenue growth is now expected at 10 to 11 percent, up from a prior 8 to 10 percent, while the earnings margin is projected at 18.5 to 19.5 percent, above the earlier 18 to 19 percent range.

To keep pace, the company is investing 300 million euros in expanding its switchgear plants in Frankfurt and building a new supplier facility in Offenbach, with 700 jobs expected to be created there by 2030.

Digital Industries, meanwhile, held its guidance steady at 7 to 10 percent comparable revenue growth and an earnings margin of 17 to 19 percent. At group level, Siemens reaffirmed comparable revenue growth of 6 to 8 percent with a book-to-bill ratio above 1.

Mobility Deals and Capital Returns

Beyond the digital divisions, Siemens Mobility signed a contract with Italian high-speed operator Italo for 26 Velaro Multi System trains worth 3 billion euros, according to Handelsblatt, plus a 30-year maintenance agreement. An option for 14 additional trains is attached. The division is also advancing its acquisition of Italian rail technology group Mermec, expected to close by the end of 2026, which would bring signal, diagnostic, and measurement technology with significant synergy potential.

A share buyback program of up to 6 billion euros, running for as long as five years, began on July 1, underscoring the company's capital strength. The expanded partnership with NVIDIA to develop an industrial AI operating system, announced at CES 2026, further positions Siemens to benefit from the current AI investment cycle — with its Erlangen plant serving as a blueprint for fully AI-driven, adaptive manufacturing.

Broader Tailwinds From a Brightening German Economy

The positive news flow arrives against an improving macroeconomic backdrop. DWS and Union Investment both project German economic growth of 1.2 percent for 2026. Industrial order intake in Germany is running roughly 6 percent above the prior-year level — the strongest growth since 2016/2017 — and new business registrations have reached their highest point in a decade.

Siemens at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Analysts at DZ Bank see sharply rising corporate profits as a key reason the current DAX rally rests on solid foundations. LBBW notes that earnings have recently grown faster than share prices themselves — an argument that also applies to Siemens, whose stock has gained 19 percent since the start of the year.

Management Shake-Up and Cultural Shift

The corporate picture is not without internal change. Veronika Bienert took over as chief financial officer on April 1, succeeding Ralf P. Thomas, while Peter Koerte assumed responsibility for Smart Infrastructure from Matthias Rebellius in July. Business Insider Deutschland also reported an organizational reform that will see numerous managers relinquish their C-level titles — a sign of a deeper cultural transformation within the group.

With the record order intake, the raised profit forecast, and the North Sea Connector 2 contract, Siemens has furnished multiple arguments supporting its current robust share price performance. Investors will likely focus in the coming weeks on whether Germany's economic brightening translates into further order momentum.
