Sixteen Hours Online: What Italian Employers Must Complete to Meet Their Safety Duties
Published on 10/21/2026 at 04:51 | Editorial boerse-global.deEmployers in Italy shopping for mandatory workplace-safety training face a crowded market, and provider ANFOS Servizi used an October 20, 2026 report to set out what the law actually demands in terms of content and hours.
Its central message for buyers: pick courses on the strength of the trainers' experience and professional quality, and make sure the regulations being taught are kept fully up to date. Those two factors, the provider argues, are what allow a company to credibly meet its legal obligations in workplace health and safety.
Whatever the local rules, the paperwork behind a credible safety programme is where many employers come unstuck. A free toolkit gives you 41 ready-to-use templates and checklists — covering everything from fire safety and manual handling to first aid and lone working — so your risk management stands up to scrutiny. The core programme
Under the Accordo Stato-Regioni 2025 — the standing agreement between Italy's central government and its regions — the employer course ("Datore di Lavoro") runs 16 hours in an e-learning format, according to ANFOS Servizi. A parallel offering, "Datore di Lavoro commercio," also spans 16 e-learning hours and ends with a final test.
Beyond that base, the catalogue splits into modules tailored to particular roles and sectors. The construction-site module ("Modulo Cantieri") is set at 6 hours. For employers who also serve as heads of the internal prevention and protection service (DDL-RSPP), the general module ("Modulo Comune") accounts for 8 hours.
Sector-specific add-ons ("Moduli Integrativi") vary in length by industry:
- Agriculture ("Agricoltura"): 16 hours
- Fishing ("Pesca"): 12 hours
- Construction ("Costruzioni"): 16 hours
- Chemicals and petrochemicals ("Chimico-Petrolchimico"): 16 hours
Keeping qualifications current
Refresher training carries as much weight as the initial courses when it comes to holding on to a qualification. The "Aggiornamento DDL-RSPP" refresher is listed at 8 hours.
On pricing, ANFOS Servizi describes an unusual arrangement: taking part in the course itself costs nothing. The only charge is for issuing the official certificate, handed over once a participant passes the final test. That structure lets learners work through the material at their own pace before sitting the exam.
Training is only half the picture — inspectors also want to see the documents that back it up. A free health and safety toolkit bundles risk assessments, checklists and toolbox talks aligned to core regulations, so you can show you have done what the law requires.
