Thyssenkrupp Braces for December 8 Annual Report as Duisburg Green-Steel Launch Slides to 2029
Published on 11/08/2026 at 09:51 | Editorial boerse-global.deThyssenkrupp has entered a blackout period for management board members and other staff with leadership responsibilities, a window that runs until December 8, according to the company's financial calendar. That same date carries the release of the annual report for fiscal 2025/2026, a year the group defines as running from October through September. The calendar also slots in a balance-sheet press conference and a call for analysts and investors. Thyssenkrupp had already flagged the annual financial report's publication in a mandatory disclosure on October 29.
Analysts, meanwhile, have been trimming their expectations. LBBW cut its price target on the stock on Wednesday to EUR 18 from EUR 19, while reaffirming its "Buy" rating — a shift in the target rather than the recommendation. At Friday's close the shares stood at EUR 11.86, well below even the reduced objective.
Ownership Disclosure Puts Morgan Stanley Above 7%
A separate mandatory filing published on October 30 detailed Morgan Stanley's voting position at 7.96% in total. Voting rights attached to shares accounted for 5.28%, with instruments making up 2.67%. The threshold crossing was dated October 26.

Duisburg Plant Pushed Back Two Years
The most consequential operational news came from the steel division. Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe confirmed on Friday that its direct-reduction plant for low-carbon steel in Duisburg will not start up until 2029, rather than the originally planned 2027. A company spokesperson pointed to the engineering phase as the main cause, according to dpa-AFX, and the later date also appears in a European Commission document.
The project carries a price tag of roughly EUR 3 billion, backed by up to EUR 2 billion in state subsidies. Late in October, Thyssenkrupp Steel said the revised funding notice for its tkH2Steel decarbonisation project had become legally binding. The adjusted conditions allow for a more flexible, step-by-step ramp-up of the hydrogen share, and the division is preparing a fresh hydrogen tender to match.
IG Metall Opens Wage Round With 5% Demand
Labour matters are moving on a parallel track. IG Metall on Monday called for 5% more pay for workers in northwestern Germany's steel industry, a bargaining region that includes Thyssenkrupp Steel. On Tuesday, 400 employees across several operations in Andernach briefly downed tools in a warning strike, according to the union, with the action starting outside the Rasselstein plant gates.
Hydrogen Roadmap Unveiled With European Allies
On the hydrogen front, Thyssenkrupp took part in a joint push by European companies. On October 27, the European Resilience Alliance presented a roadmap for investment in an EU-wide clean hydrogen value chain. Thyssenkrupp said it was among the companies presenting the plan, which aims to unlock investment along that European supply chain.
