Thyssenkrupp Sets December 8 for Annual Report as Duisburg Green-Steel Start Slips to 2029
Published on 11/07/2026 at 12:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deThyssenkrupp will publish its 2025/2026 annual report on December 8, 2026, the group has confirmed, with an annual press conference and an analysts' and investors' conference scheduled for the same day. The fiscal year runs from October through September, so the report will cover the twelve months now drawing to a close.
Goldman Sachs Back Above the Five-Percent Mark
A mandatory disclosure filed yesterday for Thyssenkrupp showed Goldman Sachs crossing a reporting threshold as of Monday. The US bank's aggregate position — voting rights plus attributable instruments — climbed to 5.01% from 4.25%, lifting the reported holding back above the five-percent line.
The composition matters more than the headline figure. Voting rights from shares accounted for just 0.68%, while instruments made up 4.34%. In other words, the bulk of the position is built from derivatives rather than a direct equity stake of comparable size, and the filing explicitly separates the two components. It makes no statement about Goldman's strategic intentions.
The move reverses a reduction reported for October 29, when Goldman's aggregate position fell from 5.08% to 4.25%. The subsequent increase covers share voting rights and instruments taken together, not the shareholding alone.

Chlor-Alkali Plant Live in India
On the operating side, subsidiary Thyssenkrupp Nucera commissioned a chlor-alkali plant in India on Thursday for client Kutch Chemical Industries Limited. According to the company, the facility has an annual production capacity of 220,000 tonnes of caustic soda.
Duisburg Direct-Reduction Plant Pushed to 2029
The group's decarbonisation flagship is running behind schedule. Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe has confirmed that the direct-reduction plant in Duisburg will now start up in 2029 rather than 2027, with the delay attributed largely to adjustments during the engineering phase. A report in Handelsblatt said no additional cost burden on the project is expected as a result of the postponement — an expectation rather than a final accounting of the venture.
For the tkH2Steel project, Thyssenkrupp Steel has received a legally binding amended funding notice. The revised subsidy conditions, per the company, provide a basis for continuing implementation and for a fresh hydrogen tender, which the business is now preparing. The updated EU funding decision reflects the later start date.
