Ubtech Robotics Puts Its Hardware to Work in Newsrooms, Factories and Showrooms
Published on 11/08/2026 at 06:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deUbtech Robotics is spreading its humanoid machines across an unusually wide set of stages. Within a single week the Shenzhen company has supplied the hardware behind two robot news anchors, put its companion robot on display in South Korea, flagged a Korean-language rollout for December at the earliest, and collected a first prize for joint research — all while quietly issuing new shares to directors and staff.
The most visible showcase came on Thursday, when Ubtech and the Xinhua news agency introduced Xinyan and Xinyu at the World Media Summit. Ubtech acted as development partner, contributing bionic skin and hardware for embodied intelligence, an operating system, an emotional AI model and the manufacturing of the robots themselves. The tie-up therefore stretches beyond assembly into the technical components that keep the anchors running.
Korea: a December target and a live production line
South Korea is the other front. At RoboWorld 2026 on Wednesday, Ubtech presented its U1 Pro companion robot, and a company sales director said Korean-language conversations with local partner Polaris AI are planned for December at the earliest — the first firm timeline for a feature aimed at the South Korean market. Polaris AI had said on Monday it would display Ubtech's humanoids at the Korean trade fair, combining demonstrations with talks with prospective customers.
Field testing is already under way, according to media reports. Ubtech is trialling humanoids on a South Korean production line for automotive parts, working with Duksan JM Robotics and Ajin Industrial, where the machines are undergoing on-site operational tests.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Ubtech Robotics?
Thinker-Sim and a RMB 124 million hire
Training those machines is the job of Thinker-Sim, the simulation platform for embodied AI that Ubtech unveiled on Monday. It digitises real environments, generates synthetic data and evaluates robot capabilities, using the company's own Thinker-GS algorithm to reconstruct scenes. The platform rests on a Real2Sim2Real workflow that links physical surroundings with simulation.
Reuters reported on Monday that Ubtech has also posted a vacancy for a scientific lead to develop AI models, with pay reaching as much as RMB 124 million including equity and benefits.
A research prize and a boardroom share issue
Recognition arrived on Wednesday, when a joint research project involving Ubtech took a first prize at the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Awards 2025. The work covers how robots perceive and make decisions together in complex, dynamic environments, with trial sites named as inspections in nuclear power plants, intelligent warehouse logistics and smart manufacturing.
Ubtech Robotics at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Investors have a further item to weigh: a share issue completed just over a week ago. A mandatory disclosure to the Hong Kong exchange confirms the issuance of roughly 2 million H-shares at RMB 1 each, allotted to three board members and 360 employees. Following the changes, the filing lists about 505 million issued shares in total.
Further afield, Ubtech signed a memorandum of understanding for strategic cooperation with the office of international relations of the Ras Al Khaimah government roughly three weeks ago, with media reports pointing to humanoid deployments and pilot projects in the United Arab Emirates.
