Ubtech Robotics is no longer asking investors to believe in a humanoid future on the strength of stage demonstrations alone. The Chinese robot maker has begun converting pilot projects into serial production, and its first-half 2026 results offer the clearest evidence yet that the strategy is gaining commercial traction.

Revenue for the six months through June doubled year on year, climbing 104.2% to 1.269 billion Renminbi. Gross profit rose even faster, up 160.9% to 567 million Renminbi, while the gross margin reached 44.7%. The net loss narrowed by 23.0% over the same period.

The standout performer was the full-size embodied-intelligence humanoid segment, where revenue surged 1,445.0% to 590 million Renminbi. Ubtech broadened its catalogue accordingly, adding the Cruzr Y1, Walker C1 and U1 to a lineup designed for tasks spanning industrial settings and the service sector. Standardised platforms are central to the company's plan to widen its customer base and open additional application fields.

Liuzhou Plant Sets the Pace at One Robot Every Ten Minutes

Underpinning that commercial push is a manufacturing footprint built for volume. On 12 September, Ubtech commissioned a plant in Liuzhou developed with Siemens Digital Industries Software. Spanning 14,000 square metres, the facility is designed for annual capacity of up to 10,000 humanoid units, with a takt time of one industrial humanoid robot every ten minutes. Walker S and Cruzr models dominate the lines.

Automation runs deep inside the site. Cruzr-series robots work alongside collaborative systems and autonomous transport vehicles handling logistics. An integrated automated high-bay warehouse occupies just 65 square metres yet holds up to 112 humanoid units, lifting space utilisation by more than 50%.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Ubtech Robotics?

Capital Injection Targets Joint Modules and Consumer Robots

Fresh funding is feeding the expansion. The company closed a financing round worth 13.9 million US dollars in September, with proceeds earmarked for integrated joint modules boasting high power density, plus further development of humanoids for industrial and end-consumer use.

The consumer side is already shipping. Under its UWorld brand, Ubtech began delivering the U1 companion humanoid to Chinese households on Wednesday, covering a price range of 16,500 to 135,000 US dollars. More than 13,000 pre-orders had been logged ahead of the launch.

Deliveries, Overseas Orders and the Road to Profitability

Unit volumes tell a similar story of ramp-up. Ubtech shipped 921 of its large humanoid robots in the first half, with total shipments across all device categories reaching 16,123 units. Media reports point to additional overseas orders from Europe, Japan and South Korea worth more than 50 million Renminbi.

Executing on that backlog is now the operative test. Management is counting on rising volumes to deliver meaningful economies of scale and clear a path toward profitability, a shift Reuters has framed as a move away from technology showcases toward cost reduction and real-world workflows.

Shares Recover From a 52-Week Low

Investors offered a measured response. The stock added 4.5% on Friday to close at 9.35 Euro, recovering ground after touching a 52-week low of 8.24 Euro just on Tuesday. Even so, the shares remain down 35% since the start of the year, leaving a considerable gap to earlier peaks.

With large-scale production now running and the consumer segment opening up, Ubtech has assembled the operational foundations to turn its substantial order book and pre-order pipeline into measurable revenue.
