Vincorion's Order Book Swells to €1.2 Billion as Defense Contracts Convert Into Hard Revenue

The defense supplier's half-year scorecard has delivered a jolt to investors, with the order intake running at more than four times last year's pace and a growing share of that pipeline now converted into firm commitments. Vincorion booked €330.2 million in new orders during the first six months of 2026, a dramatic leap from the €72.7 million recorded in the same period a year earlier.
That surge has pushed the company's total backlog to €1.2 billion, providing revenue visibility that management says extends several years into the future. The conversion of soft commitments into binding contracts played a central role in the acceleration — a process that gathered pace in June, when the company logged orders exceeding €100 million in a single month. Among the notable wins were a €54 million contract for stabilization systems used in armored vehicles and a €20 million order for power generators tied to ground-based air defense systems.
Profitability Keeps Pace With Expansion
Revenue for the first half climbed 42.4 percent to €150.2 million, up from €105.5 million in the prior-year period, while adjusted EBIT rose 32.8 percent to €28.4 million. The resulting operating margin of 18.9 percent underscores that the growth spurt has not come at the expense of earnings quality.
The segment picture shows broad-based momentum. Vehicle Systems led the charge with a 72.0 percent revenue increase to €72.6 million. Power Systems advanced 41.1 percent to €46.2 million, while Aviation posted a more modest gain to €33.2 million, hovering just above its year-ago level.

Cash generation also turned a corner. After a negative free cash flow of €7.1 million in the first quarter, the second quarter delivered a positive €1.1 million — an early sign that the order boom is beginning to translate into liquidity rather than remaining a paper exercise.
Guidance Tightened as Analysts Move Targets Higher
Management has responded by refining its full-year outlook, now projecting revenue between €280 million and €320 million with an adjusted EBIT margin of 18 to 19 percent. The company expects to land at the upper end of that revenue range, signaling confidence that the current trajectory can be sustained.
The sell-side has followed suit. JPMorgan's David H Perry lifted his price target from €23.50 to €27.00 on Thursday, reiterating an "Overweight" rating while raising earnings-per-share estimates by 10 percent annually for the 2026 through 2030 period. Berenberg also moved its target from €26 to €27, keeping a "Buy" recommendation in place.
The market's response has been measured but positive. Shares traded at €22.02 on Thursday, up 1.7 percent on the day, though the stock has already run considerably over the past month — gaining 19 percent over 30 trading days. The 12 percent advance over the past seven sessions has brought the equity to within roughly 7 to 9 percent of its 52-week high of €23.78, set in early May.
Vincorion at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Momentum Meets Caution
Technical indicators suggest the recent rally may be running ahead of itself. The relative strength index stands at 71.5, a level that typically signals overbought conditions, while the stock's 30-day volatility of 53 percent underscores the sharp swings investors have had to stomach.
The fundamental picture, however, remains the dominant driver. With a backlog of €1.2 billion providing exceptional forward visibility, the key question is no longer whether demand exists, but whether Vincorion can execute on the contracts it has secured. The coming quarterly reports will show whether the company can convert its record order book into sustained earnings growth — and whether the freshly raised price targets hold up against reality.
