Xiaomi's Growth Menu: Premium Phones, Record EV Deliveries and a 1.7 Billion Yuan Battery Bet
Published on 11/08/2026 at 12:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deXiaomi is asking investors to weigh three growth engines at once — a global smartphone launch, a record month for electric vehicle deliveries and a planned battery investment — just as two brokerages trim their price targets ahead of the company's third-quarter report.
The stock climbed 16% over the week, helped by the higher delivery figures and a broader market recovery, according to media reports. A new model line was cited as an additional driver behind the shipment numbers.
Deliveries Hit a 2026 High
Xiaomi reported more than 50,000 electric vehicles delivered in October about a week ago. Reuters described it as the highest monthly figure of 2026, though the company did not disclose an exact unit count. Cumulative deliveries from January through October reached roughly 336,000 vehicles, against a full-year target of 550,000 — the benchmark against which the coming months will be measured.
On the product side, Xiaomi said on 2 November via its official X account that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will roll out worldwide in November. The launch opens fresh sales opportunities, provided the company can convert the global push into genuine demand.

Analysts Trim Targets, Keep Buy Ratings
Near-term earnings expectations are less encouraging. Citi cut its price target to HK$33.2 on 2 November while maintaining a buy rating, pointing to weaker expected third-quarter 2026 results. Goldman Sachs lowered its target from HK$39 to HK$35 on Thursday, also keeping a buy recommendation, citing softer electric vehicle revenue forecasts and higher spending on artificial intelligence.
UOB Kay Hian stayed at "Hold" on 2 November and reduced its target to HK$25.90. The research house expected weaker sales in connected devices and electric vehicles to outweigh a stronger smartphone quarter, forecasting adjusted net profit down 57.2% to Rmb4.84 billion.
A Battery Bet and a Capital Question
Xiaomi Technology plans to invest Rmb1.7 billion in Sunwoda Power through Hanxing Venture Capital, according to a plan reported on 29 October. The move involves subscribing to about Rmb898 million of newly registered capital in Sunwoda Power, the battery subsidiary of Sunwoda. The stake points to a longer-term build-out around the vehicle business, though it would tie up additional capital.
Xiaomi at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
That tension — new products improving the outlook while the current business may lag expectations — sits at the heart of the equity story. A more favourable view would require Xiaomi to show that its expansion also supports earnings.
The next checkpoint is a board meeting on 24 November 2026 to approve the quarterly results, when revenue and profit trends will share the spotlight with growth in the car business.
