XRP's Ledger Vote Resets While a Nasdaq Treasury Vehicle Nears Its Debut
Published on 10/03/2026 at 06:10 | Editorial boerse-global.deA procedural hiccup on the XRP Ledger has pushed back the activation of its Batch amendment to October 9, after validator support briefly slipped below the network's required threshold. The dip forced the ledger's automated two-week countdown to restart from scratch — a mechanism designed to ensure that any protocol change holds a qualified majority without interruption before it goes live. Validators must now sustain that backing across the full window for the upgrade to take effect on the new date.
Price action largely shrugged off the technical delay. XRP changed hands at $1.49 on Saturday, up 1.4% on the day and still trading north of its 50-day moving average of $1.39.
Institutional Buildout Continues on Several Fronts
While the validator vote plays out in the background, the token's broader ecosystem has been logging quieter wins. Financial infrastructure firm CSD BR unveiled a collaboration with Ripple on Tuesday aimed at using the XRP Ledger as an additional layer for recording and verifying Brazilian financial assets. The initiative kicks off with shares in investment funds managed by Banco BTG Pactual.
Regulated investment vehicles, meanwhile, keep drawing capital. US spot XRP ETFs recorded $121.4 million in net inflows during September, according to media reports — a sign that professional investors remain engaged with exchange-traded routes into the asset. That momentum has carried into the current week: the funds took in $4.1 million on Thursday alone, bringing cumulative inflows since their launch to just under $1.8 billion.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?
Attention shifts to Asia this weekend, where Ripple President Monica Long is scheduled to speak Saturday at the XRP Seoul conference, spotlighting the company's international expansion ambitions.
Evernorth Prepares for Nasdaq Listing
The coming week brings a separate milestone. Evernorth's merger with the shell company Armada Acquisition Corp. II is set to close on Wednesday, October 7, clearing the way for a Nasdaq debut under the ticker XRPN on October 8. The listing would give the market its first publicly traded company built around a balance sheet anchored primarily in XRP, offering institutional investors a regulated channel into the token's trajectory.
Evernorth expects to hold roughly 473 million XRP in reserve at closing, alongside approximately $300 million in gross cash before transaction costs. Combined with contributed holdings, the total financing package exceeds $1 billion, sourced largely through private placements and convertible bond issuance. Management has outlined yield, ecosystem, and capital markets strategies intended to grow holdings per share over time. Completion remains contingent on satisfying the remaining listing conditions.
Market watchers caution that the debut won't automatically spark spot demand. Because the tokens were contributed to the structure beforehand, any buying pressure would only materialize if management deploys its cash for future purchases. The model also carries business risk, since balance sheet quality stays tightly linked to the cryptocurrency's price swings — a factor the company acknowledges, citing potential valuation writedowns and the ongoing requirements of a public listing.
Muted Reaction as the Market Weighs Its Next Move
Trading desks have shown little euphoria ahead of the listing. XRP slipped 2.3% on Friday to $1.46, consolidating after an earlier recovery and remaining below prior yearly highs. The broader market is searching for direction, with the macroeconomic backdrop and upcoming interest rate decisions tempering risk appetite.
As the exchange debut approaches and ETF products continue to absorb tokens, a growing share of the supply is shifting into custody arrangements. For investors, the question now is how the newly created corporate vehicle will fare in the regulated public markets starting next week.
