Max Power Mining has entered a new chapter that blends technical validation with political and institutional backing. The explorer's recent 3D seismic campaign in Saskatchewan not only exceeded expectations but also unlocked a partnership with the city of Moose Jaw, laying the groundwork for commercial-scale natural hydrogen extraction along the Regina-Moose Jaw Industrial Corridor.

The seismic data, completed in April, revealed a structural closure of 14.2 square kilometers at the Lawson complex—double previous estimates and significantly larger than initially forecast. This, combined with a separate gas discovery at the Bracken project 325 kilometers away containing natural hydrogen and helium, points to an extensive geological system driven by iron-rich rock reacting with water. Max Power now controls 1.3 million permitted acres, Canada's largest land package for natural hydrogen, a resource that is drawing increasing competition from peers like Makenita Resources.

On May 15, the company formalized its relationship with Moose Jaw via a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop the industrial corridor for hydrogen commercialization. The city's existing transport, logistics and energy infrastructure gives Max Power a direct link to potential off-takers—a critical advantage as it transitions from exploration to project development. This move was reinforced by billionaire investor Eric Sprott, whose holding company purchased one million shares at an average of C$2.02 each, lifting his stake to roughly 12.8% of outstanding shares.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Max Power Mining?

Management also strengthened its financial bench. Tony Van Burgsteden, a former CFO at uranium producer Orano Canada and at the multi-billion-dollar cooperative FCL, has taken the reins as chief financial officer. His appointment signals that the company is seriously preparing for a development phase, backed by the C$2.02 million that Sprott's placement injected alongside a capital raise completed in April.

The market's response has been explosive. The stock closed at €1.63 on Friday, a new 52-week high and an 11% single-day gain that brings its year-to-date advance to 318%. Yet beneath the surface, the Relative Strength Index stands at 20.5—a deeply oversold reading that is unusual during a strong uptrend and highlights the stock's extreme volatility, with annualized swings well above 100%. This technical anomaly suggests the rally may have temporarily exhausted buying momentum.

Investors will get a clearer picture next week. Management has scheduled a detailed operational update for the period starting May 18, which is expected to outline first synergies with regional industry and provide fresh data on the extent of the hydrogen system. The next major milestone is a confirmation drill planned for mid-2026 at the crest of the Lawson structure, designed to prove commercial flow rates and trigger a formal development decision.

For now, Max Power Mining has assembled the pieces—seismic evidence, municipal alignment, institutional confidence and a stronger management team. The question is whether the drill bit can deliver the proof that the market has already priced in.
