OHB Faces a Crucial Week as Capital Moves and Space Ambitions Collide
06.06.2026 - 11:05:10 | boerse-global.de
OHB SE is heading into a decisive stretch for reasons that have little to do with its latest operating numbers. The company’s shares were hit hard on Friday, and the market is now focused on what comes next: a virtual annual general meeting on 8 June, a large planned placement by KKR before 30 June, and a business story that still looks strong on paper.
The stock closed at 372,50 Euro on Friday after sliding 9,15 percent, or 9,76 percent by another measure, leaving it down almost 15 percent over the week. Even so, the move comes after an extraordinary run. Over 12 months, the share price has still soared by 375 percent to 377 percent, depending on the comparison period used. That leaves the current level nearly 46 percent below the May all-time high of 688,00 Euro.
Operationally, OHB remains in good shape. In the first quarter of 2026, revenue rose 15 percent and total output reached 279,3 million Euro. Adjusted EBITDA increased 37 percent to 27,3 million Euro. The order book climbed to a record 3,35 billion Euro, supported by contracts in satellite work and planetary defence. Strategic projects are also expanding the company’s footprint, including the European Moonport Company, the KIRK joint venture with Helsing, and a development partnership with Siemens aimed at turning European space manufacturing into a more repeatable industrial process.
Yet the share price is being driven by capital-market questions rather than by those fundamentals. At the AGM on 8 June, shareholders will vote on authorising the board to issue convertible and warrant-linked bonds worth up to 1,2 billion Euro through June 2031. The related conditional capital could amount to as much as 20 percent of current share capital, including the possibility of excluding pre-emptive rights. The Deutsche Schutzvereinigung für Wertpapierbesitz has criticised the plan and is recommending votes against several agenda items.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?
KKR adds a second layer of uncertainty. The investor holds around 29 percent of OHB and intends to sell roughly 20 percentage points of that stake, a transaction worth more than 1 billion Euro. The placement is expected to be completed before 30 June. That said, there is a potential upside for market structure: free float would rise from roughly 6 percent to around 26 percent, which could improve liquidity in a stock known for sharp swings. Annualised volatility is currently 142 percent, while 30-day volatility is above 143 percent.
Tuesday’s meeting also carries some governance intrigue. Dr. Theodor Weimer is standing for election to the supervisory board. He is an entrepreneur and executive advisor at KKR, and the AGM documents describe the indirect link between KKR and the shareholding structure around OHB.
From a technical perspective, the picture is mixed rather than broken. OHB is still about 5 percent above its 50-day average, which suggests some near-term stability. The 200-day average stands at 203 Euro or 203,58 Euro, putting the share price nearly 84 percent above that long-term benchmark. The RSI reads 45 or 45,2, signalling neither overbought nor oversold conditions. At the same time, the stock remains about 45 percent below the 52-week high, while still more than 483 percent above the 52-week low.
OHB SE at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Investors are also watching the broader macro backdrop. The European Central Bank is due to meet this week for a monetary policy session, and it has recently spoken about higher inflation risks. For a stock already caught between strategic enthusiasm and financing concerns, that kind of setting can be uncomfortable.
For now, OHB sits at the intersection of two very different narratives. On one side is a business with a record order book, growing earnings and increasingly relevant space-defence contracts. On the other is a company facing dilution risk of up to 20 percent, a large shareholder reducing exposure, and an AGM that could set the tone for months. The next few days will show which of those forces matters more.
