Ondas Holdings: Record Orders and Navy Deal Can't Stem 30% Weekly Sell-Off as Share Overhang Looms

09.06.2026 - 20:04:50 | boerse-global.de

Ondas reports record Q2 orders over $110M and a $4.8M Navy balloon contract, but stock drops 30% in a week on share registration overhang from Omnisys acquisition.

Ondas Inc. Shares Plunge 30% on Dilution Fears Despite $110M Orders & Navy Deal

The numbers on the operational front at Ondas Inc. tell a story of breakneck expansion. Orders for the second quarter have already topped $110 million, and the US Navy has signed on for stratospheric balloon systems worth $4.8 million. But the stock market has turned its attention elsewhere — to a wave of share registrations that has knocked nearly a third off the company's market value in a single week.

Shares slid more than 8% on Tuesday alone, closing at €8.21, after the company disclosed the registration of roughly 2.7 million shares tied to the acquisition of Israeli AI specialist Omnisys. None of the proceeds from any sale of those shares will reach Ondas; they go directly to selling shareholders. That potential supply overhang, combined with a separate SEC filing flagging 2.1 million additional registered shares, has rattled investors despite the underlying business momentum.

The weekly decline now stands at almost 30%, following a 21% drop the prior week. Annualized volatility remains extreme at over 140%, though the stock still trades comfortably above its June 2025 low.

Defense pivot gathers pace

Under the surface, Ondas is executing a radical transformation into a diversified defense contractor. The Navy contract — awarded by the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command — will see World View, an Ondas subsidiary, deploy its balloon systems over the Eastern Pacific and the Caribbean for three months. The mission: surveillance of illegal fishing and drug trafficking from the stratosphere.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Ondas Holdings?

That deal is just one piece of a booming order book. For the current quarter, the company has booked more than $110 million in orders, building on a first quarter that saw revenue climb to $50.1 million. The momentum is part of a broader acquisition spree: during the first quarter alone, Ondas closed five takeovers worth a combined $550 million, including World View and Mistral.

Management has set a revenue target of at least $390 million for fiscal 2026 — a dramatic leap from the prior year's level. The integration of Omnisys is expected to complete the shift from a holding structure to a focused defense technology group.

Cash conversion challenge

While the top line accelerates, the rapid expansion carries costs. Operating expenses have surged alongside the acquisition binge, and the company still faces the challenge of converting its ballooning backlog into cash flow. Short sellers have taken notice: short interest stands at over 31% of the float, reflecting deep skepticism about the pace of profitable growth.

Ondas Holdings at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

On the technical side, the stock has so far held above its 200-day moving average of €7.47, suggesting the long-term uptrend — which has delivered a near-500% gain over the past twelve months — remains intact. But with two separate share registration overhangs lingering and the market focused on dilution rather than demand, the near-term path looks anything but smooth.
