Duran Duran release the physical editions of Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes on 30 October 2026, marking the band’s first remix album available on vinyl and CD. The release arrives in three formats, including a webstore-exclusive special edition.
Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes takes shape in three formats
The physical edition builds on Duran Duran’s single Free To Love, with remixes from Horse Meat Disco, Harrison and DJ White Shadow. ALISSIA, Biff Chitlins, BastienkHz and Trixie Mattel also contribute versions to the collection.
The standard CD brings together every remix released digitally so far, the original single and two new band reworkings, Love Overture and Across the Galaxy. The 12-inch version carries the remix programme on vinyl, while the special edition adds a bonus seven-inch record. The release is therefore both a physical edition and a broadened presentation of the same song. The store’s 30 October date also identifies the CD, standard 12-inch vinyl and special-edition vinyl.
Nile Rodgers and Duran Duran share the release’s musical thread
Nile Rodgers remains part of the release’s musical thread, as he features on Free To Love and is named in the album announcement. The set places guest remixes alongside versions made by Duran Duran themselves.
The release announcement calls it the band’s first remix album made available on vinyl and CD. This distinction gives the physical formats a clear place in the band’s 2026 music programme.
The physical editions add details beyond the original single
Each edition uses metallic-ink packaging, and the CD and standard vinyl include an eight-page booklet with photographs by Nick Rhodes. The special-edition package is exclusive to the webstore and pairs the 12-inch record with an extra seven-inch. That structure gives the collection three physical identities while keeping every edition tied to 30 October 2026.
Duran Duran’s own reworkings anchor the collection
Duran Duran are credited with two new reworkings on both the standard CD and the 12-inch programme. Love Overture and Across the Galaxy sit alongside versions by outside remixers, so the band remain active participants in the album’s design.
That arrangement connects Duran Duran’s own studio work with the wider dance-remix field rather than presenting a simple reissue of Free To Love. The project is built around one song, but its formats show several production viewpoints.
