Ed Sheeran brings Tu Mil Jaaye to King
The song arrived for Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, and it is the first song from King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is scheduled for worldwide cinemas on 24 December 2026.
Ed Sheeran wrote and performed the English rap, while Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi provide vocals. Sachin-Jigar composed the track and Kumaar wrote the Hindi lyrics; those credits appear in IndiaTV’s song credit listing.
How Ed Sheeran joined the King soundtrack
Ed Sheeran’s contribution began with a meeting involving Shah Rukh Khan and the composers Sachin-Jigar during a visit to India. Khan introduced the singer to Jigar, after which Sheeran wrote and recorded his verse for the film, as outlined in the Indian Express collaboration account.
The track also extends an existing musical link with Arijit Singh: the pair previously worked together on Sapphire, whose video included a Shah Rukh Khan cameo. That connection gives the new release a bridge between Sheeran’s pop songwriting and Hindi cinema, while his English rap sits beside Hindi vocals from Singh and Bagchi.
