Pixies put Brackish Boy / Punk Loop online with 4AD

The official digital page lists Brackish Boy / Punk Loop as a digital album for streaming and download. It names Brackish Boy and Punk Loop as the two tracks, with MP3 and FLAC downloads among the listed formats.

NME’s account of the release identifies four songs in the digital arrival. Alongside the two-track item, the set includes Dig For Fire (Albini Version) and Go Man Go, all available on digital streaming platforms for the first time.

Pixies connect the digital release with their catalogue

The four recordings link the release to the Pixies catalogue around Bossanova and Trompe le Monde. They had previously appeared as bonus 7-inch singles in limited-edition remastered pressings of those albums.

The release also preserves the different histories of the recordings. Dig For Fire (Albini Version) is an alternate version, while Punk Loop remained an unreleased studio performance before the digital arrival; Brackish Boy is an early Pixies version of a song later recorded by Black Francis.
