The Strokes headline Primavera Sound Buenos Aires on 29 November 2026, appearing at the festival’s Sunday programme in Argentina’s capital. The booking places the New York band at a public festival led by a day-by-day line-up that also includes FKA twigs and Lily Allen.
Buenos Aires sets the Sunday programme for The Strokes
Primavera Sound’s Buenos Aires festival listing puts The Strokes on Sunday 29 November 2026 alongside FKA twigs, Lily Allen and Courtney Barnett. That day also includes underscores, Juana Molina, Santiago Motorizado, Smerz, Juana Aguirre, Machine Girl, Mannequin Pussy and Sophia Stel.
An announcement from the festival names The Strokes among the headline acts for the Buenos Aires edition. The current programme identifies Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires as the venue, while the city remains the event’s announced location, according to the venue and Sunday line-up.
The Strokes bring a New York rock identity to the festival
The Strokes are a New York rock band built around Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti. The group’s established profile combines lean guitar writing, laconic vocals and garage-rock influences.
The group biography classifies the band as pop/rock and records its formation in New York. Its catalogue runs from Is This It and Room on Fire through The New Abnormal and Reality Awaits.
That history gives the Buenos Aires appearance a clear place within the band’s continuing concert activity. The Sunday bill also positions the group beside artists from indie, pop and alternative music without changing its own five-piece identity.
Reality Awaits connects the booking with the latest album
Sony Music’s announcement describes Reality Awaits as the first The Strokes album in six years, released through Cult Records and RCA Records. The release identifies the band as a New York City group and lists Going Shopping and Falling out of Love among its singles.
The album connection links the festival appearance with the band’s latest studio work. Primavera Sound’s Buenos Aires programme therefore brings the group’s current touring set-up to a festival day led by The Strokes and FKA twigs.
