ENGIE expanded its renewable footprint in India with two commissioned solar projects totaling 450 MW, according to ad-hoc-news.de, which cited energy publication EQ. The development was reported on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Two projects add operating capacity
The 250 MW Khaba project in Rajasthan is expected to generate about 650 GWh of electricity annually. The 200 MW Khavda project in Gujarat is expected to produce about 350 GWh a year and operates under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam.
Together, the facilities are expected to generate 1,000 GWh each year. The report said ENGIE has about 2 GW of projects in India that are either operational or under construction, while its broader strategy combines solar generation with storage and flexible power solutions.
Storage broadens the growth platform
The Indian expansion adds operating assets rather than only development capacity. The report also pointed to a 280 MW/560 MWh battery project secured in 2025 and a 200 MW solar project paired with 100 MW/600 MWh of storage secured in January 2026.
